Laura has been working and growing with Optimal as an administrator since 2020. She’s our go-to for all things relating to monthly client invoicing, weekly accounting reports, IT equipment leasing projects, and research tasks. Not content with that, she’s most recently branched out into sales and assisting the HR department.
Before joining Optimal, Laura worked in leasehold property management, playing detective on legal inquiries during property transfers and sales. In roles at two property management companies, she garnered several complimentary letters, glowing website testimonials and won a customer service award. Laura was also the voice behind the company recording message on more than one occasion (she was reluctant, but they insisted).
Laura’s focus has always been helping people. Her skills as a born people person shine through in earlier roles that include organizing engineering teams for maintenance companies, being an account manager for a uniform business, and working as a receptionist, which helped build confidence for more challenging positions.
Something you may not know about Laura is that she’s a trained chef who worked in care homes upon graduating. Her guilty pleasures include crystals, perfume, and anything that smells nice or is dark and mysterious (scratch that, Laura admits she doesn’t feel a shred of guilt).
A huge animal lover–and vegetarian of more than 25 years–Laura has a soft spot for peacocks and flying foxes
Bucket list destination:
Egypt to see Abu Simbel and Karnak Temple (and everything else)
Last supper guest list (dead or alive):
Laura would invite the whole Egyptian Neteru to her dinner party!
