About:

A technology leader with more than 20 years of experience in the information industry, David has a knack for building positive, service-focused IT departments that leverage efficiency throughout organizations. Using clear communication, he nurtures an IT culture that emphasizes the stakeholder experience and maximizes productivity and efficiency.

David blends solid project management with the effective use of agile project methodology across an enterprise, maintaining that IT should be seamless and involve continuous improvement. An advocate for replacing lagging technology, David keeps himself and his team up to date with the latest trends through ongoing training and education.

During his time at the University of Oklahoma, David worked with multiple capital, software, and infrastructure projects to ensure uninterrupted IT services. He prioritized and maintained a disciplined budget throughout each project.

Together with his family, David embraces life in the great outdoors and has a particular passion for trail running. He’s completed several road marathons, 50ks, 50 milers, two sub 30 hour 100 mile finishes at the Leadville Trail 100 in Colorado, and the Bighorn Trail 100, part of the Bighorn Mountain and Scenic Trail Run in Sheridan, Wyoming.

Whenever the Sooter family isn’t learning or working, you’ll find them running through the mountains in the warmer months or skiing the steeps in winter at Taos Ski Valley.

Bucket list destination:

New Zealand. David has yet to make it that far south but would love to explore the mountains and coastline of this incredible island nation.
